Today we did this:

4 C. Flour + 1/2 C Baby oil = Cloud Dough!

It has this amazing velvety texture but sticks together like wet sand

We got a cookie scoop and silicone cupcake cups and and other jello molds and Isaac went to town

Mainly he just liked to run his fingers through it and squish it in his fingers.

This little project has kept them entertained for over an hour now!

There are a HUNDRED more things on Pintrest that I am DYING to do with the boys!

There are also DYI ideas, home decorating ideas, wedding/party planning ideas, holiday decoration ideas, if your into fashion there's a whole section for that...I could go on and on!

The boys have really been goin at it lately. They have a very bi-polar relationship and it can get very frustrating. We have found the best solution is to separate them for a while. This is not always an easy task. Today it was. I put them in separate bath tubs and set them up with some finger paints made out of shaving cream and food coloring! It gave me a good hour of peaceful, non-fighting time!

Isaac was a much neater painting.

It was fun to see how differently they painted and how their personalities came out in that.

Gary is messy and all over. He mixed his colors almost instantly. He put some in his water so that his water would turn colors.

Isaac was more meticulous. He kept his colors separate and neater. He didn't like getting his water colored.

It was a fun experiment that we will definitely be doing again!

We decided to do Christmas a little early this year. Why? Lots of reasons, but mainly because we wanted to and we can! It's one of the perks of being the Mom and Dad, you get to make decisions like that!

So here's a little taste of what Christmas was like at our house

It has been a fun week!!

It's been full of a whole lot of this;

We've all been enjoying have a little baby (yes, even at 2am when she's wide awake) and the happiness that comes with babies.

Has it brought calm to the house?! Not quite. The boys are still as rambunctious as ever and maybe a little more so from the excitement of having their baby sister here. They are so in love with her and I can't help but smile every time they try to "help" out. Their intentions are good and I guess that's what matters right?!

My mom was able to stop by for a quick visit on her way down to my Grandma's (HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRAMY). It was nice to have her here, even if it was only for a few hours.

All in all it's been a fun and mildly crazy week.

Having said that;

WELCOME ASHLEY PEARL

At about 7:30am Wednesday morning I started having contractions. However, they were irregular and not lasting very long, plus Isaac had school pictures that day, so yes, I took Isaac to get his school pictures taken while I was in "labor"

After returning from school pictures they were getting stronger and longer so I called the hospital and we were admitted around 11:30am. We walked around to get the contractions to be more consistent. The nurse we had was amazing! She gave us some good tips and advice to get the baby to drop (no she still hadn't dropped yet) and to get the contractions closer together. She was also really good about leaving us alone to do our own thing.

I ended up getting my epidural, which slowed down my contractions so they hooked me up to some pitocin which got them stronger and closer together.

After 14 hrs of labor and 10 mins of pushing she made her grand entrance at 1:20am on December 1st weighing in at 9lbs 6oz and measuring 20.5 inches!

She is an amazing baby!! A great eater, super sleeper, and not fussy at all!!

The nice part was that since she is our 3rd and there were no complications they let us go home that evening.

Night of Nights

First of all I gots to send a shout out to my mom!

Happy Birthday to the bestest Mom and Nana in the whole world!!!!

We lucked out in the costume department this year in that we didn't have to buy any! As I was pulling out the Halloween decorations the boys got all excited when they saw their costumes! So since they still fit (they were pretty big last year) we went with it!

A Gronckle, dragon, Gruffalo (depending on who you ask or talk to) and Buzz Lightyear

We went around our neighborhood and then due to lack of participation, went next door to the bigger neighborhood. We did not freeze and I survived all the walking! The boys did an AMAZING job staying safe in the dark among the bazillion kids. They had glow sticks around their necks and flashlights to see where they were going! They had a blast! Greg stayed home so that there would be someone to pass out candy at our house.

Only 20 days left!!!

So then we have the million dollar question. How do you distribute all that candy your wee ones have collected?!

Do you let them stay up all night and go to town?! Our kids would be puking all night long if we did that.

Do you give them one every time they ask for it? Our kids would be puking all day and night for the next 2 days if we did that.

Do you divide it in half and "tax" your kids?! We had quite a bit left over.

Do you let them eat a few pieces every day?! That sounds like a good option.

Which is when Greg came up with a genius idea!!!

Our kids love to help out. They put their own clothes away. They pick up their dirty clothes. They will help fold the laundry ..... if we ask them to.

So he devised the "Good Job Jar"

I found these cute little jars at the dollar store a couple weeks ago.

So last night after we inspected the candy, (would you believe that someone was handing out chocolate covered coffee beans?! And Rum flavored candy?!) they got to fill their jars with their favorite candy, and whatever didn't fit went into the candy bowl for everyone to share.

So now if they do something to help out without being asked they get to pick a piece of candy out of their good job jar!

So far this morning, Gary picked up the play room and Isaac put all the laundry away!

They picked up the shoes by the door and got all the dirty clothes in the right hampers!

They are loving the Good Job Jars and I am loving all the help!

Tech Free Weekend

Greg and I decided to go technology free this past weekend! Friday night we turned off/unplugged the computer, TV, phones and radio! Not because we were protesting or have anything against technology, but because it felt like a good idea!

So what does one do when they decide to go "tech free"?!

Well. When TV, phone, radio, and computer are not an option it gives you a lot of time to spend with your awesome family!!

Greg has been working with Isaac on riding his bike without training wheels, well. Mission accomplished

We also made "Buchanan family spiders"!

Greg got this idea from someone at work and decided it would make a cute addition to our Halloween decorations!

They are sooo cute I can't take it!

We had so much fun this weekend as a family! Greg and I try to find stuff to do as a family every weekend but this weekend was packed full of family fun time! Saturday we went out to breakfast, played at the park, took the boys to ride bikes in our church parking lot, got the house and yard work done. Sunday wasn't a whole lot different than any other Sunday, we went to church came home, had dinner, made our family of spiders, hung out .... typical Sunday .... except for the spider thing, we don't do that every Sunday. The biggest difference we could tell was, because we didn't watch TV everyone was in bed by 830! So we got a lot of sleep at night. It was a great weekend and we will go tech free again, just not sure when. I recommend at least trying it! It's amazing how much closer you feel as a family when you unplug your self!

Sholz Farm

Isaac had his first field trip with his preschool! We went to Sholz farm which is a pumpkin patch with animals and a greenhouse. It has a little corn maze and a little shop to buy fresh veggies, and popcorn, pumpkins....really cool! The nice part was that siblings were allowed to come with us so Gary got to go too!

The gourd shed. Our "tour guide" is teaching them how farmers would dry out the gourds and then use them for stuff like water bottles, spoons and bowls.

Isaac randomly thew out the fact that the more grass cows eat the more milk they make and the lady was so impressed that he knew that. Isaac then got embarrassed and gave her a hug, because that's what he does when he gets shy/embarrassed.

She is telling them that they need to be SUPER quiet because the sheep just had babies last night.

The "hay pile" was the biggest hit!

It was so fun to be able to go and to take Gary along! The boys did really well and everyone listened and I think learned at least 1 thing!

Isaac has decided he is ready to ride without training wheels. I think it has to do with the fact that I may have told him he couldn't have a scooter until he could ride his bike without training wheels. So Greg took the training wheels off and spent some time out with him. After about 20 mins of working with his dad, Isaac decided he wanted to practice by himself. He didn't do to bad.

We had him practicing next to the grass so that when he fell he had more of a soft landing.

There was a lot of this

After about 15 mins of solo practicing, he decided he wanted them back on!

We're really proud of him and told him that he can practice without them again.

In other news:

Greg signed the boys up for a swim class! After Gary's new found love of swimming, and his fearless attitude when it comes to water, we figured a swim class was in order.

It's not a very big class, only about 6 kids. and they get to stand on these platforms in the big pool which is constantly supervised by a lifeguard. Isaac LOVES it!! Gary has fun, but he is, and always has been, an observer. All through class he stands there watching everyone else and then comes home and does it all in the tub. He will hold his breath in the water and blow bubbles and kick his feet...all in the comfort of his tub, we're trying to get him to do it in class.

In class they do stuff like splash around, blow bubbles in the water, dip their ears, bounce on their bottoms. They even have a bucket of toys they get to play with. It's really cute to watch all the little kids, basically take a bath together!

While the other kids are playin with the toys, the instructor will take them out one at a time to work on kicking and basic swim skills.

So I was having this dilemma of finding stuff for Gary and I to do while Isaac was at school. Gary and I have never really had a lot of one-on-one time, which is part of the reason we put Isaac in pre-school in the first place. I was talking to my mom about this and she came up with the perfect solution!

A few days later we got our paint in the mail and the creativity began!

Gary was kind enough to let Isaac in on the fun, since most of the painting will take place while he's at school.

And about 45 mins later, this is what we ended up with!

I think I may need to invest in a line with some clothes pins for drying.

Needless to say, As a HUGE Thank You, Nana can be expecting some artwork in the mail!

School!

WE DID IT!!! We survived Isaac's first day of pre school!!!

He is so excited to be going to school and LOVES his teacher!

He goes 2 days a week, Monday and Friday, from 9-230.

It's a Montessori program which means it's very hands on and he can learn at his own pace.

He was so excited to go to school, he sat by the door until we were all ready to go. He loves being able to take his lunch box to school. He was bummed that he wouldn't need a back pack but quickly got over that. On our way to school he was talking to us about random things and then says with a little chuckle "But I'm still a little bit nervous"

When we got to school he got all of his things put away and then had a hard time joining the rest of the class for circle time but that only lasted about 2 minutes and then he jumped right in.

When he got home it was a little challenging to get his 1st day of school experience out of him, due to the fact that he had his Nana and cousins here, but from what I did get he made bubbles with water, soap and a manual egg beater, he helped wash the dishes, he painted a picture, and poked holes in a circle on a piece of paper. He only remembered 2 of his classmates names but there will be plenty of time for that.

Today was his 2nd day of school and it was a breeze. He was the 2nd one there and went right in, put his shoes on the rack, his lunch in the fridge and sat down on the carpet! When Ms Shawna asked if he wanted to give me a hug and kiss he said "Oh .... No. She's ok! Bye Mom and Gary!" and with that I left. I love that he's so quick to warm up to new people and new experiences! I can't wait to hear all about his 2nd day of school!

It' that time of year again people!!! It's MY BIRTHDAY!!! I LOVE Birthday's!! Anyone's really, but especially mine! A birthday is a day where it's all about YOU! You don't have to share it with anyone, it's a day to celebrate the day YOU were born! I love my kids birthday, I love my hubbys birthday, I LOVE MY birthday!!! It may be a little selfish and self centered...but I don't care. It's my birthday and I think that on your birthday you deserve to be a little selfish! Have that extra piece of cake! Eat chocolate chips for breakfast without hiding them in pancakes! Do what you want to do because it's your birthday and you deserve it!!!
Birthdays have always been a big deal out our house! Growing up, my parents always made sure it was your day! You got to pick breakfast lunch and dinner. Mom always made a cake, and there was always candles, ice cream, singing and TONS of fun!!! We always went all out for each other's birthdays! From making HUGE signs to hang outside their door, to find when they woke up, to decorating the car. Balloons were a must and there HAD to be some kind of party. As we got older we would throw each other birthday parties, some surprise, some not, but there was always a party with lots of friends, games and food (My mom LOVED to cook for our friends).
I was fortunate enough to find a man that not only seems to understand, but respects "The Birthday"!! He lets me go all out for our kids and makes sure to do the same for me!! It's always a week long celebration with signs, activities and constant reminding that someone has a special day coming up! This year has been no different!! We kicked off the Birthday festivities with a new kitchen table that he found on Craigslist (love that place) for $100!!!! We had a garage sale yesterday, which we didn't do to bad at, and then ended the day with a Rainiers game! We did the family package so we all got free hats and a coupon for Little Ceasers pizza and crazy bread....YUM!!!! He's got some kind of get together goin on tomorrow that will be fun....because it's my birthday and everything is fun on your birthday!! Needless to say, My husband rocks, and it's my birthday, What more could a girl ask for?!

Random Thoughts

Today has been a random thought kind of day.

It's been a good day. Better than most lately. Summer has finally arrived and we've been having some pretty nice weather. Not Hot Hot, but nice and warm! 80's nice and warm. We've been playing outside a lot, and doing a lot of sprinkler time. We always come in around 1 for quiet time but today the boys wanted to come in early. So we came in and played games. I love that they are getting old enough to play games with. I'm not a creative person, in the sense that I can't come up with fun toddlerish games out of the blue like my Aunt can! She is amazing at coming up with fun things to do with her toddler. I often find myself reading her blog thinking to myself "Why didn't I think of that?! It's so obvious!" I lean more towards the board games. Today we busted out Twister. WOW! The boys were pretty good at it. Gary especially! We also played Candy land and some air hockey. It was after a dispute over who was the winner that I decided it was quiet time. Usually quiet time consists of (don't judge) blankets on the couch and chairs watching Martha Stewart and Rachel Ray. To which Gary usually falls asleep and Isaac likes to watch the cooking parts.

Today Martha had on some one making a traditional Vietnamese soup called Pho. You can see the segment here. It was pretty cool (mainly because I am a huge fan of food from other countries) and Isaac thought that it looked cool to eat with chop sticks so I made some "throw random stuff in a pot" noodle soup, and hooked him up with some chop sticks and let him mess around with them. I can't eat with chop sticks so Greg and I decided to have Veggie noodles for lunch on Sunday and Greg can teach the boys how to eat with chop sticks (there will most likely be pics).

In other news, Greg dug up more of our garden area today and the boys have a little patch of dirt to play in. They are happy boys...well at least Gary is. They spent the morning building dirt castles!

Oh yah. And Greg bought me a new shirt after a bit of a rough day. I love it! Plus it looks really awesome with a 6 month prego belly!

As Greg and I sat in Church on listening to the speakers talk on provident living it got us excited and motivated to start our own garden and become more self reliant. So instead of coming home and taking naps like we usually do we decided to come home and plan out where our garden was going to be. We made lunch and set out a blanket in our backyard and talked with the boys about what we should plant in our garden. We came up with a whole list of ideas and then narrowed it down to 4 as a starter garden. The next day we broke ground! It's really exciting to see it begin and to see where our garden is going to be!

Camping

We decided that since we hadn't gone as a family yet we should go. So we did! It was short and sweet.
Saturday I had a Pampered Chef party so when that was over we left for Alder Lake, which is only about 30 mins away from us. It was a fun, windy drive. I'm so glad that we have kids who like traveling and make car rides....interesting. =)
When we got there we walked to our campsite and started setting up. Luckily it wasn't too far from the parking lot, although getting back to the parking lot and bathrooms was all uphill, so that made for a fun walk with 2 little boys who decided they had to go potty every 20 mins! We kept everything pretty simple. Hot Dogs for dinner with smore's to follow. Capri Sun (which they loved because I never buy it) and new camping water bottles. It was pretty warm so nobody wanted to get too close to the fire. Gary wanted to roast his hot dog but wouldn't sit close enough so Greg did it for him. Then he wanted to do a marshmallow but again, wouldn't sit close enough so I did it for him. Isaac had fun roasting his food, but kept dropping it into the fire. When it got dark we climbed into bed and the boys were out pretty quick, and slept really well until about 530 when they decided that would be an acceptable time to start in on their morning wrestle. we eventually had to separate them and spend the next hour telling them to be quiet. And when they wouldn't do that (except for the 15 mins it took them to eat their muffin for breakfast) we decided since we were the only ones in the campground that was up, we would pack it up and head out, before the boys woke up the whole place. We were able to make it out by 715. We got home, unloaded the car, got everyone bathed and headed to church.
At church they talked about provident living which got Greg and I motivated to get our garden started. So after church we had lunch and sat out in our backyard and planned out where our garden will be and what we want to grow. I'm so excited to get it going this spring!! I'm even more excited that we can have a decent sized garden that won't take up our entire yard!
Unfortunately we forgot the camera so we didn't get any physical pictures, just mental ones...sorry. You'll just have to use your imagination.

7 Years Strong!!!

We had the BEST anniversary! Greg's mom took the boys Thursday and we went and picked them up on Saturday! A full 48 hrs of kid free anniversary time! It was very much needed (especially for me)

Isaac and Gary got me an electric can opener, which I realize may seem like an odd anniversary gift but if you have ever used any of our can openers you will know how amazingly perfect this gift was! I LOVE IT!! We had ordered a Cutco block and a knife (we already had some because Greg used to sell Cutco) and it finally came!

Way back in March I had bought tickets to the Mariners/Red Sox game. I was able to keep it a secret clear up until about a week before our anniversary! At which point Greg used his excellent deductive reasoning skills and I couldn't keep it a secret any longer. It worked out for the better because once he knew what we were doing he was able to help plan out the rest of the day.

So we rode the link light rail up to Seattle. It was a ton of fun and nice to not have to worry about paying to park, traffic, gas.... and it's very cost efficient!

This place is amazing!! You could easily spend all day here and still not fully experience everything!

They have this HUGE Tower of guitars and other musical instruments.

In the Jimi Hendrix exhibit. They have tables with Ipods in them so that you can sit and listen to music while you read different books they have on Mr. Hendrix.

They have this HUGE screen as you walk in that shows music videos and different things. This is the making of Avatar. on the right side it showed what the actors were doing in the studio, under that is the computer generated version, the big screen on the left is how it turned out in the movie. It was really cool to stand and watch.

7 1/2 yrs ago Greg took me to the space needle to "propose" the 2nd time....No he did not NEED to propose twice, I said yes the first time. He is just that awesome!

He proposed the first time at church and gave me my CTR ring, the 2nd time he took me to the space needle and gave me the official ring.

7 1/2 yrs later we're back (not that we've never been back since then....) and still happy! =)

So we rode the train back and when we got to our stop they told us we couldn't get off due to an incident that was happening. The police had closed the station. We had to get off at Sea-Tac (which is only about a mile away) and then ride the bus back. When we got back the bus driver had to drop us off a block away because the police had closed the road to the station as well.

Apparently there was a suspicious looking package under a car so the whole parking lot was shut down. Luckily when we went to find a place to park, the main parking lot was full so we had to park across the street! So we got out no problem.

Saturday we went and picked the boys up. They both fell asleep on the way home. So we put them in bed got everything put away. On our way to bed we noticed Gary had sort of slid out of bed....

It was a GREAT Anniversary weekend and it has been a GREAT 7 yrs!

I've noticed as I watch all my friends post their family reunion pics I find myself scanning through to only look at the pics....So that's what you can do too!

My family all got together at my Grandparents house in Cali. We (obviously) all had fun.

Isaac graduated to a booster seat and we got it for him right before we left so he had to tell everyone about it. It only took a day of running outside for him to figure out how to sleep in the car.

The boys got a little warm and asked if they could sit in the shade. so we did...and then made silly faces at everyone.

We took a day to spend in the pool out at the campground we stayed at.

Gary took to the water like a fish! He had never been swimming in a big pool before and he LOVES to swim.

Isaac was a little more cautious. He wouldn't get off the steps unless uncle Derek was there to hang onto him.

Seriously. He wouldn't even go with me. It HAD to be Uncle Derek!

Status Update

So you know how things happen through out your day and you think "Oh man that would make the greatest Facebook status?!" We totally had one of those weekends where we could have flooded Facebook with goofy things that got said, or done. It seemed like everything we did or said was so funny or random we wanted to share it with everyone! Maybe they're only funny to us, but I decided to share anyway.
Things like:
*Greg says to me "I wish I was 1/2 as sexy as you" and I reply, "you are!"

*Sitting in the wal-mart parking lot and Gary says "Hey Mom! I can see the mountain!" (Mount Rainer) And Isaac says to him "That's not a mountain Gary! That's just an Old pile of dirt!"

*The boys have been chasing a fly around the house for 20 mins trying to feed it a dried up macaroni noodle

*I was painting the dresser we're going to use for Ashley and ended up with paint all over my feet. Isaac wanted me to come inside and look at something and I told him I couldn't because I had paint all over my feet. and with a straight face he said "I can't solve your problems Mom"

*Greg was trying to teach Isaac his favorite saying 'You're right, I'm wrong, I'm sorry' and when it came out Isaac ended up saying "I'm sorry you're wrong"

*Me-"Isaac pick a number between 1 and 5" Isaac-"15!!!" CLOSE--But no!

*Isaac told me this morning that Michael Jackson is his favorite guy ever!!

*We were having ribs last night for dinner and Gary (who had eaten all 3 of his) says to Isaac (who has eaten 1 1/2) "Isaac, can I have that big rib?! Cuz I really like big ribs!"

So there you have it. A small, funny (even if it is only to us) glimpse into our weekend. Oh yah. and because I have issues with leaving you picture less. We also did some of this:

Just in case you were wondering;

We're over 1/2 way there!

We got Bears room painted and Bubba moved in.

Our little girls wardrobe is slowly growing (which has been way to much fun) and everyone around us is so excited to meet this little girl!

I'm feeling better and boy have the cravings hit hard. Everything sweet and salty. Chocolate, Potato chips and Chinese food seem to be top 3. It's been kind of fun having cravings because I didn't really crave anything with the boys.

She's getting to be more active so I can really feel her moving around. That is my favorite part of pregnancy.

The boys are so excited. They talk to her daily and can't wait to have a little sister.

Life is good and keeps getting better!

His first gift of the day was from his Nana and Papa who bought hm an exercise trampoline.

In preparation for our little girl we set up the boys bunk beds and moved the boys into the same room.

we painted one of the walls so Daddy and Bubba sat on the bed to watch it dry.

My sister came up and we had a girls night out/Spa party. She's a consultant for BeautiControl which does professional spa products. It was really nice and this sleep mask was my gift for hosting the party!

Independence Day

First of all;

How CUTE are these 2?! Their cousin was having her Birthday Party and they picked out their own clothes and wanted me to "put their hair up"

4th of July! Independence Day!

We had a Blast!!

Bear HATES Fireworks so he spent a good portion of the day wearing his ear muffs. And MORE than happy to do it!

Bubba was fine with the fireworks, but the later it got, the louder it got so he decided he needed some too.

He also has a new hobby he's working on. The Hula Hoop

I figured that since our last family picture was when Bear was 6 months old, and he'll be 3 on the 15th, we needed a new family pic. So here it is!

Needless to say, we really know how to party!

And since Bear hated the fireworks, I spent the first part of the evening inside, in the kitchen playing and talking (which was more like yelling since he couldn't hear me with his ear muffs on) with him. He was perfectly happy, as long as we were in the kitchen, with his ear muffs on.

I Love this clip. I think it's a wonderful reminder of how good we all have it. It always brings me back down off my spoiled high horse and reminds me that Life is AMAZING! There are so many convinces that we all take for granted! It's a clip full of quotes my mom will remind us of. "Could you give it a second?! It has to go to SPACE!!" being one of the most quoted.

These past 2 weeks have been one for the books at our house. We've all been sick....well except Bear who somehow was only sick for 3 days and has now somehow avoided the whole mess.

Bubba got a cold, which turned into pink eye. I got his cold (luckily not the pink eye) and I just can't get rid of it. Daddy got the cold from me and now HE can't get rid of it. Isaac (2 weeks later) woke up with a fever of 103 and I couldn't get it to come down. He wouldn't eat, but he was staying hydrated. on the afternoon of the 2nd day of his 103 fever I called the Dr. and they got me right in (Amazing) They did a strep test which came back negative, that surprised the Dr because when she swabbed his throat she could see how red and swollen it was. (amazing that they can swab and have results in 10 mins). So she gave him the antibiotics for strep and today (2 days later) He is up and back to his energetic, constant talking self (Amazing). Daddy and I are still coughing our toenails up but hey, at least the boys aren't sick!

And if a silly cold that lasts 3 weeks is our only problem I'd say we're doin alright!

Life is Amazing. And we should all be happy about that!

Father's Day was pretty low key as most of us were sick =(

The boys made Daddy cards and I made french toast, hash browns and eggs for breakfast. We went to church and then came home and did kabobs for lunch. The boys took a nap and when they woke up we did a little Rocking out, and then did Smores over the BBQ.

Wednesday the boys Grama took us to the zoo. The boys had a blast! They each got to ride the camel and Bubba even went all by himself!

Bear was a little freaked out by the camel at first so Grama went with him, but he quickly got used to it and ended up loving it!

I love this zoo because it has a playground for kids that has a whole bunch of educational animal games for the kids to do

The zoo also has an aquarium which is really cool. They had this big fish (no clue what it's called) that Totally looked like a cartoon!

Another highlight was the Carousel (or Carouswheel as Bubba keeps calling it)

All in all it was a very successful trip to the zoo and we all left with happy, tired faces!

This is "Feel free to skip this post" kind of posts because when it comes to being pregnant this is how I feel:

Could be 9 months, Could be 9 million years ......

When I was pregnant with the boys I LOVED it!! I loved everything about it. Including the morning sickness. All 5-6 months of it. Weird I know but I can't remember NOT loving being pregnant. It was the best 9 months of my life! That's why I was so anxious to have another.

This one, not so much. The only thing I've liked about is that I've lost 20 lbs!

I feel like crap all the time. I'm tired, no, exhausted all the time. I'm grumpy, and moody and emotional and hormonal, and it's all around awful!!

It's like I have this grumpy, angry personality that comes out in the snap of a finger that I have no control of! The last time I felt this out of control of my emotions was in High School (fun times right Mom and Dad?!)

It bugs me!

I can't eat anything. and by anything I mean I'm Pretty much lactose intolerant, which means I can't eat my favorite pregnancy foods. Ice cream (have you ever told a pregnant woman she can't eat ice cream?! More importantly, have you ever told a pregnant woman's husband that she can't have ice cream?! WORSE!!!) Cold cereal, cheese sandwiches....

Can't do apples, or tomatoes....Which means no spaghetti, lasagna, ravioli, Tuna Helper...You get the point!

I can't eat a lot of sugar, I'm talkin a square of chocolate a day. So I have to be super careful as to how much sugar is in something....I haven't had my glucose test done yet, which if you don't know, that's the test that lets you know if you have Gestational diabetes (which I don't think I have).

It's not fun.

It's annoying.

It's hard to find something to eat that isn't your 20th peanut butter sandwich for the day

I think the most frustrating part is that I'm not enjoying it. I wanted it so bad and now I can't wait till it's over!

I'm 16 weeks today, which means only 5 months left.

Only a couple weeks till we find out the gender.

Only a couple weeks till I fit my maternity clothes. I'm at the at awkward in between stage, where maternity clothes are to big in the belly, and regular clothes are to tight, although since I've lost so much weight most of my shirts still fit.

Anywho, I'm done whining now so I'll let you know if anything exciting happens!

We had our "confirm your due date" ultrasound today and I am 13 weeks and 3 days! Which means the due date has not changed. Nov. 20th.

Little Bunny Foo Foo

A couple days ago Bubba came in telling me he saw a bunny in our backyard.

"A Bunny?!" I thought. It's possible...I guess.

And tonight when I looked out the window to make sure the backyard toys were put away and the boys shoes and socks were not left out,

(Because they have a knack for putting shoes and socks on to GO outside and then taking them off once they get outside, leaving them to be picked up, hopefully, before bedtime)

I saw it! A Bunny in our backyard!!

I quickly grabbed my camera put on my flip flops and went out back to see if I could be sneaky enough to catch a picture of our new friend.

Once out side I quickly realized that Flip Flops probably weren't the best idea so I took them off and tip toed through the grass to retrieve the shoes and socks snapping pictures as I went.

This is how close I got before he....or she hopped back under the fence.

When I came back in and showed Bubba the pictures he said "Oh THANKS Mom!!!!" and gave me a huge hug! I'm hoping he's not under the impression that I GOT him a bunny....just pictures of the one he saw.

How could you not love them?!

There are many many things I love about these two!

They are my life. My reason for doing what I do.

They are the cause of the white (not Gray, WHITE) hairs I find on my head weekly.

They are the reason I don't do anything about my new found highlights.

They are the reason I laugh, cry, and scream, Multiple times a day.

They are the reason for a lot of things...

There is one thing that I'm not crazy about (GASP!! SHOCK!!! I know!!!)

These two precious little angels have a tendency to wake up at 6:30 Every Morning!!!!

Despite my best efforts to help them sleep in, 630 is the magical number.

I've kept them up later. They normally go to bed about 8.

I've ran them outside before bed.

Lavender bath, Lavender lotion, Lavender air fresheners.

You name it, we've probably tried it.

So here is my question...

How do you get YOUR precious little angels to sleep past 7?

Because even when you go to bed at 9, 630 is too early to be getting up!

We will be having another next week because after this one, the Dr. isn't so sure I'm quite 12 weeks yet so next week we will have a better one to determine just how far along I am.

I was going to wait till we found out the Gender of this wee one that has graced us with it's presence, but since there has been so many guesses, I wanted to throw it out there and open it up to the public!
We are expecting our 3rd child (which still sounds odd to me) in November. November 20th to be exact. Which is precisely 4 days before Thanksgiving and 7 days before Daddy's birthday. Needless to say, We're hoping for an early baby! And who knows because Bubba was 11 days late, and Bear tried coming on his due date but didn't come till the next day. Soooooo It's anyone's guess!
Now for the "how are you feeling?" question. NOT GOOD! I always have horrible Morning sickness but this one has been worse. It could be because I have 2 little hooligans I'm trying to keep up with, It could be that I just don't remember how bad it actually is, It could be that I'm a flat out WUSS when it comes to being nauseous. Whatever the reason, I've been pretty sick. I have lost 11 lbs since we found out 6 weeks ago which puts me at my pre-Bear weight, so that's kind of exciting...and disturbing all at once.

At 6 weeks

Almost 12 weeks,

I was on Zofran (which is what they give to Kemo patience for nausea and has been proven safe for pregnancy) but I'm trying to get off it because 1-I HATE taking drugs while prego. I'm super paranoid about stuff like that. 2-I don't know that it was working that well. It made me really tired and light headed and gave me headaches. So I'm trying to get by without it. We'll see how it goes. Hopefully I'm almost over this lovely stage of pregnancy so we won't have to worry about it.

Anywho....Boy or Girl?! That has been the great debate. So I have added a poll on the sidebar. Feel free to weigh in. As the name of our blog says. We only have boys. and I LOVE my boys! They are super easy, and aside from the apparent need to eat every 20 mins like teenagers, pretty inexpensive. Now I'm not saying that I wouldn't LOVE to have a little girl to dress up and paint her tiny nails and put cute flowers and clips in her hair and take out for pedicures when she's older..I would LOVE that. Boys are easy. We would obviously be happy with either. So place your bet, guess, whatever you want to call it. Boy or Girl?! and sometime in June or July, we'll let you know!

Easter was a long event this year.

It started with Daddy taking the boys to his company Easter Party

Saturday we went to Grama and Grampas house to paint eggs, hunt for eggs, and eat an amazing lunch

The boys also picked me a flower! Awwww

When we got home it was still super sunny and there were things to get done so the boys played outside on their new Play set while Daddy did some yard work.

Sunday morning we found the Easter bunny had delivered eggs to our front porch

-one of the benefits of living in a neighborhood like ours is that you can trust your neighbors so that when they do nice things like this, you don't have to worry to much about where they came from-

We then had our own little egg hunt in the rain in our backyard

After church I taught the boys about Jesus dying on the cross and being resurrected.

I love using the eggs as a teaching tool. It is a really cool lesson to teach younger kids the true meaning of Easter. Bubba is 4 yrs old and by the end of the story he can tell it back to you!

It is very moving to hear him tell you about how they sold Jesus and then made him wear a "crown of poky things" and then made him carry the cross and then "Bang bang bang nails in his hands a feet with a hammer" and then wrap him in cloth and put him in the tomb. and how after 3 days "Mary came and cried saying 'where's Jesus' and He came to her and said 'Don't cry Mary, I'm Ok' and that's called Resurrection!"

I am so grateful for my Savior and the sacrifice he made by dying for our sins so that we can live with our Father in Heaven again. I am Grateful for my boys and the special spirit they bring into our home. They make me want to be a better person. I am grateful for the love and quick forgiveness they have.

This time of year always makes me look at my life and remind myself of all my blessings and how lucky I really am, and wonderful life really is!

With that being said, I would like to wish you all a Happy Easter and a Very Happy Spring!

Bedtime usually plays out like this at our house;

Brush teeth, wash hands. Get jammies on, in bed. Bear gets prayer and song and then It's Bubba's turn. Bear goes first because Bubba will lay in bed quietly while I tuck in Bear....where it doesn't work the other way around. Anywho...I usually help Bear with his prayer but tonight I wanted to see what he had flying solo. So I told him he could do it, and he did!
Both prayers melted my heart tonight. Bubba had me in tears! I LOVE my kiddos and I Love my hubby for working so hard so that I can stay home with them and have these special moments!!

Hair like Daddy's

NEVER Underestimate the power, or determination of a 2 1/2 yr old.

Sometimes I forget that this little guy isn't 3 yet (he'll be 3 in July).

And then he does stuff like scale the computer desk just so that he can paint his own nails.

As I head down the hall a giggling Bubba says to me "WAIT!! Close your eyes!" After which he takes my hands and leads me into his bedroom (But not before running into the wall himself). Still giggling he leads me right up to the edge of his bed and says "Ok! Open you eyes....NOW!!!"

In case I haven't mentioned this before. I married the Greatest guy in the whole world! He is a Great Father, and Excellent provider, and takes care of me in every way possible.

Just this past weekend he surprised me with a little parental getaway.

Monday night he told me we were going on a trip. We would be getting on a plane Thursday morning, early, and flying out of state...That's all he told me. Anxiety immediately set in. Tuesday I started cleaning, laundry, dishes, straightening up. Wednesday I couldn't take the mystery any longer. I cleaned like a maniac to keep my mind off the fact that he would be packing for me. I wouldn't know what I had to wear, I had no clue where we were going or what we were doing. All I knew is that we were flying somewhere out of state and we would be gone for 4 days!!! My mind was racing with the "Where's and What's" I finished all the laundry. Finished all the dishes. Picked up every room. Packed the boys. Painted my nails. Made cookies. Packed food for the boys while they stayed at their Grandma and Grandpa's. I was a wreck!!

I LOVE Surprises but we later decided that 48 hrs was a little too much.

I took the boys down to Grama and Grampas and then came home, washed the 6 dishes in the sink by hand, picked random fuzzies out of the carpet, swept and mopped...again, and then Greg got home. We tried to go to bed but couldn't sleep. He couldn't take it either. He finally couldn't contain himself anymore and told me we would be flying to LA!!! He still wouldn't tell me why, or what we would be doing. Instead he had printed off all of our destinations on a piece of paper and covered them with strips of colored paper that I got to pull off as we went.

Thursday: 3am we got up, loaded the car and headed to the air port. We Landed in LA at about 9am, got our rental car, and headed to the Long Beach Art Museum. We had an amazing lunch at the restaurant at the art museum and then drove down to Palm Springs! I am in love with Palm Springs. Seriously, I could live there. We ate at Las Casuelas, which was SUPER Yummy!!! We walked the Street fair they have every Thursday night called Village Fest. So much fun. So many musicians, vendors and amazing smelling food (we didn't eat any because we had just eaten). So surreal and SO much fun. After we had our fill of Village Fest we went back to the hotel .

Friday: After Breakfast we get in the car and I get to pull off the next strip of paper "Baseball Game" Awesome! I love baseball! He then points out WHERE this baseball game is .... Peoria AZ .... WHAT?!?! We're headed to SPRING TRAINING!!!!! and just like that we're off to Arizona!! Saw my first wild cactus and we even saw the "Google maps street view" car with camera on top of the car! We got into Peoria at about Noon and went to our first Spring Training game!! Mariners Vs Diamond Backs. We sat in the grass, in the sun, in our shorts and t-shirts (because it was 80 degrees!). We had so much fun. Stayed at the Crown Plaza that night. Amazing!

Saturday: Took our time headed back to LA. We talked, sang, laughed, stopped for anything we wanted. We love road trips and that was the perfect one! We stayed at the Hilton that night! TOTALLY AMAZING!!!

Sunday: Up and to the airport to head home! It was raining and chilly. Flew back into Sea-Tac at 10:30. It was overcast and FREEZING!! But it's good to be home!!!

The flight home was super bumpy. We even ALMOST got hit with lightning!! It was a tad scary.

We made it home. and it is Good to be home. I feel so much better. Happier, more patience, motivated to do what I should be doing. I just all around feel better.

The Diet

If you are wondering what I'm talking about because you've missed my last couple of posts, feel free to scroll down to catch up...............It's ok....I'll wait.................................................................................................

I guess you could just go Here but that's ok because now your caught up on our life too! ;)
So the diet! Yesterday was the last day! Beef and veggies until full, with the soup! The last 2 days were the absolute hardest! I thought it was going to be day 4, which is bananas and milk, and just happened to be Bubba's birthday, but the last 2 days I was tired of eating soup and was beginning to be tempted by everything. But I made it! I made it a full 7 days with out Cheating! I stuck right to the diet!! I Lost 4 lbs. which is 4 lbs I didn't have before but seeing as how my sister in law lost 8, my mother in law lost 10 and everyone on the website stated that they lost anywhere from 7-15 lbs, my 4 is kind of discouraging, especially since 1/2 way through the week I gained 2 back...? But then lost them again. I don't know.
Our scale isn't very reliable so that could be the problem. However 153 sounds a lot better than 157 right?!

So here's my plan.
1 - Never do that diet again.
2 - Have a boiled egg, a piece of whole grain, and glass of milk or juice for breakfast
3 - Work out for a MIN of 30 mins every morning, I figure I can do this because Greg doesn't have to leave for school or work till at least 8.
4 - Portion control!!!!
5 - If I'm craving something sweet, have 1 or 2 bites.
6 - Don't eat past 8:30pm

All healthier eating/living habits I wasn't doing before. I have a goal, it's tapped to my elliptical, which I cleaned off and pulled out. It seems Girly and Vein but I don't care, THIS is my goal! If I can make it down to 135, I'll even take 140. I'm going to buy myself that swimsuit!
So Here's weight loss and having a "Summer body" but more importantly, a healthier mee!!!!

As far as Bubba's Birthday goes, it went really well!! We had his party the Saturday before his birthday and had Daddy's family over (since they only life an hour away and mine are 5 hrs...) and we did "make your own pizza" and then played Rock band while we waited for our pizza to come out of the oven. We had cake and Ice Cream and He loved Every present he got!!
Then ON his birthday we had our neighbors over to make pizza and have some more cake and Ice cream. He loved it and he loves being able to tell people he is 4!!

All in all it was a very successful Birthday.
Although we did spend the day of his birthday at the Dr. because his brother was having an allergic reaction to the meds he had been on for an ear infection. But at the end of the day he said he had a really great day and "I'm happy to be 4"

On his birthday it was day 4 of my diet, which means Banana's and Milk...YUCK!!! I really don't like bananas and I really don't like Milk!

I had to eat at least 3 bananas and drink as much milk as I could. So I stuck 2-3 bananas in the blender with 2 glasses of milk and a cup of ice, a dash of vanilla (it doesn't count as cheating because vanilla doesn't have any calories in it.....=) right?!) It ended up being pretty decent, as far as a banana milk shake goes (The boys loved it) and I drank 4 glasses (2 blender pitchers) So by the end of the day I had 5 bananas and 6 glasses of milk!

Yesterday was Beef and Tomatoes. I was STOKED for this day!! Finally some protein! However, yesterday was the first day I was tempted to eat everything I saw!!! I made it through Bubba's Birthday with out being too tempted, It was pretty easy to resist. But yesterday I was so cranky over what I couldn't eat. I wanted a fruit smoothie, I wanted some berries, I wanted a turkey sandwich.....But I resisted and didn't cheat!

Today is Beef and veggies, I'm getting burnt out on the soup. But today I put in some chunks of steak (from yesterday) and squash, and mushrooms in with my soup and flavored it with curry and it is super yummy!!

Tomorrow is Brown rice, juice and veggies. It is also the last day!

So far I've lost 4lbs. My goal was 8.

So here I go. To eat more soup and snuggle my sick kiddos =)

Birthday Time!!!!

4 Years ago Today I was in a hospital, 11 days past my due date, waiting for this little guy to make his grand appearance

At 8:14pm he did just that.

11 days late and 15 hrs of labor.

He is Totally worth every day and ever hour and every minute!!

Today my Little Man turns 4!!!

He is 4 years older, 20 inches taller and 26 lbs heavier

Diet

That's right! You heard me. A Diet!!! I've started a diet. This is the first "real" diet I've ever done.
I went Vegetarian while I was in High School for a year but it wasn't with the plan to loose weight. It was simply to be healthier. My mom likes to call it my "Cheeseburger Vegetarian" Diet. .... Because I had a slight problem with McD's Cheeseburgers....in that I couldn't give those up totally. I would go get one about once a month.
This is a diet that I'm doing to loose weight. I've always known I was a little overweight, but when you go to the Dr and she tells you that you've gained 25lbs since your first baby....it doesn't sound too good. So a diet it is. It's a 7 day diet and it is intense. It's a soup based diet with a daily schedule as to what you can eat. for soup recipe and full Diet plan go Here

So far I'm on Day 3 and it's going pretty well!

Day 1 is soup and fruit. This one was hard because they don't go together....at all. So I had fruit for breakfast and snacks, and soup for lunch, dinner and when I couldn't eat any more fruit.

Day 2 is soup and veggies. This day was easier because I just added mushrooms, peppers, zucchini to the soup and filled it with all the veggies i planned on eating that day

Day 3 is Soup, fruit, and veggies. This is where I'm at today, and so far it's the best day. I had fruit for breakfast, and am eating the leftover chunky veggie soup. I am also making smoothies all day using, Frozen unsweetened berries, skim milk and unsweetened cranberry juice. So far so good!

Tomorrow (Day 4) is Bananas and milk...Eat at least 3 bananas and drink as much milk as you can....That's going to be hard because I Strongly dislike eating bananas and drinking milk....I'll keep you posted.

The boys had their first professional teeth cleaning yesterday!

Bubba did really well. He's been to the dentist but not to have his teeth cleaned. He stopped her a couple times and kept telling us he just wanted to see the Dentist. It was really funny and the Hygienist was amazingly patient!

He has a hard time with stuff in his mouth and kept pushing her away but over all he did a great job!

As a reward she let him "play" with all the stuff

Bear has never, ever been to the dentist and he was not quite sure about it. He watched Bubba get his teeth cleaned but wasn't sure he wanted a turn so I had to sit with him.

This was as far as we got. She showed him everything but then he wouldn't open his mouth for her to clean his teeth. So we'll try again later.

Bubba was so excited to see Dr. Dent, and when the hygienist told him that Dr Dent was busy and another dentist would come look at his teeth...it didn't go well.

So... Because we have an AMAZING Dentist, he took 10 mins to come see Bubba. The minute he walked in Bubba was so excited and proceeded to tell him everything that he had done in the past 3 weeks! He laid right down on the chair before the dentist could even get his gloves on!

Bear even let him take a peek!

Because Bear did such a good job (given his age and that it was his first time) they gave him a pair of gloves, which he put on all by himself...

and then wouldn't take off....

For anything!!

All in all it was a mostly successful trip to the Dentist. I'm super happy with this office and it's staff! Isaac tripped and fell, knocking his 4 front teeth loose, so we are on soft foods for the next 2 weeks *sigh*

Quest Part ll

I was doing a little past blog reading and came across an old post titled Quest It was very inspiring.
I spoke of goals. Goals like Loving my Body, Having no Regrets, accepting my faults, and Stepping out.
So here's some follow up:

Loving my Body - Good news, Since March 31, 2009, I have not gained any weight! I'm only 7lbs away from being pre Bear, 15lbs away from pre Bubba and 25 from Married age! Not bad...I think. We found an elliptical off Craigslist so hopefully working on getting healthier will be easier. We've been buying more fresh foods and working on portion control. Working on Loving my body the way my husband does...It's a work in progress
Have no Regrets - Well, I talked about auditioning for the National Anthem at a Rainier's game, I did not make it. But I'm OK with it! Why?! Because I tried, And that's what I've been working on. Trying new things. Jumping out there and having no fears. The past is the past and it will stay that way. I'm all about trying new things now! I tried Curried Goat a couple weeks ago and WOW!! SO Good!! If you ever have a chance to try Curried Goat, DO IT!!! So good!
Accepting my faults - DONE! Since we've moved into our house, there is still a pile of clothes waiting to be washed, but the folding and putting away is a lot easier so that pile is significantly smaller (Smaller, not totally gone, although some days it is GONE!) The dishes don't pile up like they used to, the bedrooms stay cleaner, the bathrooms are cleaner. Life is better! I find that my faults don't nag at me like they used to. It is easier to accept who I am.
Stepping Out - Moving really helps this! I've made lots of new friends and am really beginning to feel apart of our new ward at our Church. We've moved twice since my original Quest post, and Wow! When you are used to living near family, and then move away. Wow! It has really forced me to step outside of where I'm comfortable and be Me, and not be afraid to be me. It has made me stick my hand out and say "Hi! I'm new. I want to be your friend" (No, I did not actually say that to people) It has helped me do things I normally wouldn't. I am feeling really good about this one!

All in all I think I'm doing really well! I said that I would take as long as I need, and I really feel like I'm making progress. . . . . . That's all!

A Life Remembered

As Latter Day Saints, we believe in forever families. Which means that there is no "Rest in Peace", There is, "Till we meet again".
We are a family forever.
We are together for eternity. Just because you pass on, that doesn't mean we will never see you again. You get to go home. You get to go live with your Heavenly Father. You get to see your loved ones that have passed on before you. You get to give your family, who you've missed, hugs and kisses. You get to see them again.
Eternal families are of great comfort to me.
Yes. You will be missed by those you leave behind.
Yes. Tears will be shed as we remember what a kind, sweet, loving man you were. How you loved your children. How you loved ALL Children. How it didn't matter who we were, or how we were related. We were family and that was good enough for you. How you taught your boys how to be respectful to others and help when they see a need, instead of waiting to be asked. How you loved unconditionally.
We will always have these memories. We will always cherish these memories. We can not WAIT till we get to see you and get one of your famous Big Hugs! We DO Get to see you again. It isn't "Good-Bye", It's "C-ya Later".

2 Saturdays ago Bubba Slammed is finger in the weighted door that goes from the house to the garage, Which resulted in this;

We took him to Urgent care and decided it wasn't broken so we took him home, put on the favored space ranger band aid and sent him to see the Monster Trucks!

When he got home this is the story I got!

"Mom!! Daddy took me to see the Monster Truck!"

*He did?!*

"YAH! And there was a Green one! And a Superman one that made Bear REALLY Happy!"

Daddy- 'Bubba! Tell Mommy about the Dinosaur one'

"YAH!! There was a Dragon on! And he ate a car!"

*He ATE a CAR?!? O-My Goodness*

"Yah!! He ATE the whole car!"

"And he Roared Really loud like this, RROOOAAAARRRRR!!!!.....

....And he Spit Fire like this AAAHHHHHHH {just breathing}....."

...It was so cool and I wanna go AGAIN!!!"

"My finger?! Oh, It's fine! But my band aid fell off =( "

Thursday night. As he was climbing into the tub, he slipped and whacked his teeth on the tub. One call to the Dr, a night of checking on him every 2 hrs, a visit to his Dr, and 3 days of soft foods later, Bubba goes to the Dentist for the Very first time!

He got to ride in the chair

After a full inspection of the chair he decided to stick around

He got Cool glasses for the super bright light

Told the Dentist what happened,

"I just slipped in the tub and fell like this PSHT!"

'Oooo!! That hurts'

He wanted the Dentist to wear the cool glasses. So he did.

And then used the cool "looking tool" To look at the back of his teeth

After all was checked, pictured, looked at and played with, life is good. His teeth will be just fine!
