My Kids

My kids are funny. Like all other kids they have a knack for driving me crazy but sometimes they are hillarious! I have found that if i'm having a bad day the best thing to do is to remember all the adoreable things that my kids do. Every day they do something that makes me smile or laugh.
Bubba constantly says stuff that cracks me up. some of which are:
Shnowich (Sh-now-itch)
"O-KAY Mommy!" Said like a teenager
"Moooommmmmyyyyyy! Gary had your dohne" As he brings me my phone
He recently had the flu and then 2 weeks later some kind of 5 day sugar intolerance where he threw up anything that had any kind of sugar in it, so now his latest thing is "Mommy! I need my bucket to frow up!" or he'll ask for some "Daddy Juice" Which is Gatorde.
Last week  (durring his odd anti-sugar thing) he had a really bad diaper rash. I normaly use Butt Paste or Colloidal Silver. Neither of these were working and he screams at me for a good 45 mins after i use the Butt Paste so my sister gave me some AnD to try. I put it on (the whole time fighting a protesting child and a broken finger) and when I finally got it on, he stands up and says "Hey!! My Bum feels better! There's no owies!"
He loves his Daddy! All day long all I get to hear is "I want my daddy!!" sometimes is randomly and sometimes, most of the time it's when he's in trouble. When he gets up in the morning he comes into our room to lay down with us. If his daddy is not there (because he's usually out working on the house) he says "I want to lay on daddy's side"
He likes to try and convince me to do things. He'll say "Mommy I want some pancakes!" no bubba. you just had a bowl of cereal "(in fake tears) But Mommy!! It'll make me feel better!"
He likes to correct Bear. The other day they were watching Baby Einstein and there was a monkey puppet and this is what i heard:
Bear "Puppy!!" Bubba "No. Don't say Puppy. It's a Monkey"  "Puppy!"  "No Gary! Say Mon. . ." "Mon"  "key" Gary "Key" Isaac "Monkey" Gary "Monkey" Isaac "Good Job Gary!"
Bear likes to Growl, constanly. That's why we call him bear. When Greg got his bike, Bear's favorite thing to do is make the motorcycle sound! So we say. "Bear, What sound does a motorcyle make" to which he responds in a very impressiver growl "VROOOM VROOOM!!" He will also point out the window and say "icha (mototcycle) VROOOOOM"
He is at my favorite stage. He's just learning to talk and do stuff for himself If I try to help him with something he looks at me and says "I do it! I do it!"
He loves his food. Last week I went to my parents house, which is a 5 hr drive, so that i could have help with poor sick Bubba and my broken finger. We were about 2.5 hrs into our trip when we drove past a sign that said there was a Burger king at the next stop. I thought about stopping but hadn't made up my mind yet when I hear Bear in the back seat "Mom! Hungwee! EAT!" So we stopped.
We've been trying to cut back on the binkies. Bear has learned that he can have his if he sits and relaxes with me. When he comes up to me and says "Binki! Binki!"  I tell him that binkies are for resting and sleeping time. He used to just throw a fit. Now he walks away, gets his blanket and comes back "Banket, binki!"
At my parents house, in the basement there is a room. It is in the corner. It's dark, cool, and Bear LOVES it! When ever we go, that's where he sleeps (mainly because that's where the crib is). When we've been playing outside and he's tired and it's naptime. All i have to do is take him downstairs and walk into that room and he starts laughing. and it's one of those "Ohhhh yahhh" kind of laughs. I put him in bed. He snuggles down giggleing, sometimes he says "tankdoo", and i walk out. It's so cute how much he loves that room!
I love our kids and even though They drive me insane sometimes i wouldn't trade them for the world.  2 Nephi 2:11 "For it must needs be, that there is an aopposition in all things." . Without the tantrums, I could not have the cute and funny.

You know you're Jelous!

The story goes like this:
Once upon a time there was an AMAZING woman! She loved to do all kinds of things that challenged her. She liked to think she could keep up with the guys. She poured the foundation on her house. She built walls. She climed around in trusses. She was constantly suprising herself with what she was capable of. She would smack her fingers and hands with her hammer but always shook it off.
One day, the woman and her man decided to take their rockin little boys to the park for some fun family time. While the boys ran to the play ground she thought about how lucky she was to have such an amazing life and family.
Bubba, the oldest of the boys, wanted to swing. So she set him up on the swing and off they went. While bubba was flying high she thought it looked like fun so she sat on the swing next to him and away she went. While she and Bubba flew up and down and up and down she felt the wind in her hair and her tummy tickle with every drop. What fun they were having!
Pretty soon her tummy reminded her she couldn't swing like she used to so she decided to end her spurt of freedom and get down. Dragging her feet she started to slow down but soon her foot got caught in the tarp that was sticking up through the Bark! She was being pulled off the swing!  "If I fall I could hurt myself" she thought. She couldn't afford such an injury, building a house and all. So she grabbed hold of the chain but Suddenly her had was being yanked and her finger pulled. "OOOOWWWWW" She yelled as she untangled her finger.
"Are you ok Mama?" Bubba asked
The woman knew she had to walk away from her little man because of the words that might come out of her. Her finger was throbbing and on fire. Her man called Bubba back to him so that she could get her emotions under control. She didn't think it was broken. Her finger was still straight but it hurt so bad! 'It'll calm down. It can't hurt forever' she thought. After an hour at the park the man and woman decided it was time to go home so she could ice her finger (that was still throbbing with pain).
When she got home she called the nurse and came to the conclusion that it could be broken. She had never had a broken bone before. She wanted to have it looked at but didn't want to go in if it wasn't broken.
After much thought and discussion. She decided to sleep on it. If it still hurt in the morning she would go get it looked at.  The man went to the store to buy her a splint to get her by till she coud get it looked at. and they went to bed
The next morning she woke to her aching finger. She got up, ate breakfast and took some Ibuprofen. She then decided to call the dr. They got her in that morning where she learned that if it was broken it's the very tip of her finger. No X-ray was taken because it wouldn't effect the treatment. So with Dr.'s orders in hand (Ibuprofen every 4 hrs for 5 days, ice for 15 mins 3x a day, and a splint for the next week) she left with the thought that "I guess if I were to end my 25 yr streak w/o breaking a bone, swinging with my son was the best way to do it"

Hardcore

Today was a big purchase day!
Greg has been thinkin and thinkin about buying a motorcycle. How could he not want one?! With it being all shiny, and big, and loud. They're just so cool!! So he looked and looked and he finally found one! He went and looked, took one of our soon-to-be neighbors who knows quite a bit about them and decided to do it.
It's a '97 Honda Magna VF750. And it was a GREAT deal!
All the boys in our house are in heaven right now!!

"Make a Little Birdhouse in your Soul"

First off, I LOVE this song!! Love love love it!
Second, Greg found this sitting on our kitchen wall!
Some say it's a good sign if a bird builds it's nest in your house, others say, "Cool! A bird built a nest in your house!". I'm one of those. I'll take the good sign, and good mojo it brings, but until I see some good mojo goin on, It's cool!
We did remove it so that we wouldn't have a family of little birds in our house. I like the rusic look but I think that live birds in the house is a little to far for me!!

One Small Step

First of all, Yes, I made this!! It is the first thing I have made with my sewing machine!
Next, a funny story.
Isaac told me his bum hurt so, with a little candy bribe I convinced him to sit on the potty and at least try! So we go to the bathroom and I get him all situated on his little potty and walk away, cuz let's face it, it's just easier when you don't have someone hovering! While in the kitchen preparing some mid day, quiet time hot chocolate I hear him in there, "Ok. Let's go potty! If we go, we get some candy! So. Go. Potty!" I laughed and then went to see how it was going. The best part about his little potty pep talk, IT WORKED!!! He went potty!!! I was so excited. now while this is not his first success, they have been so sporatic lately that every time is a HUGE deal!! We did a little potty victory dance, washed our hands and sat down with our hot chocolate, candy and Cars!!

There is just something about a movie, a blanket, and a tent.
Our poor little guy came down with a bad case of the "not feelin goods". He had a bit of a temp last night so after battling to get his temprature, I gave up and went out and got one of the Excergen thermometers. I LOVE IT!!! I'm slightly addicted to taking his temp now! Poor little guy at one point was up to 103. He's been bouncing around the high 99's and low 100's all day and occasionally complaining of his tummy hurting.
Never have had a sick baby (other than a cold) I wasn't sure what to do for my poor little guy. I know it's not fun to throw up, and it can only be worse if you've never done it past the age of 1 before. I can only imagine what having the flu for the first time could feel like! I tried to get him to have some breakfast but he only ate 1 pancake (if you have ever seen this child eat pancakes you would know. he usually eats 6, no joke!). So I filled his cup with juice and stuck in a movie. He hasn't really eaten anything else all day. He's been drinking Gatorade (or Daddy juice as he and his daddy so cleverly came up with) and grape juice. But doesn't want to eat.
So all we have done today is, drink, snuggle, and watch movies. . .but then again, what else is there when your tummy hurts!

Shingles 'N Tubs

Our roof is called a hip roof! Why?! I don't know. All I know is that that is what it is called and it looks like my house is wearing a hat.
It used to bother me but the more I see it, I love my little hat house

It kind of looks like the Moster house!
except it's not two stories and hopfully has no evil child devouring spirit living in it. . .
The tub in the Boys Bathroom
Plumbing is done in the house
Our Tub! It's 3 feet wide and 5 feet long!
I'm excited!!

That's it so far! It is nice to be out of the rain and have a roof over our head!
I believe the next step is electircal and then sheet rock and insulation (not neccasarily in that order)
