Welcome Gary!!!

Tuesday, July 15th, at 10:33pm, our family welcomed Gary Allen Buchanan into this world! He arrived weighing 7 lbs 12 oz and measuring 20 1/4 inches. His arrival was an exciting one to say the least. It all started Monday the 14th (his due date) when i started having minor contractions 10-20 Min's apart. Greg went to work expecting to get a call to come home but no such luck. They lasted all day and all night and at 5 am Tuesday morning they started getting worse and were 5-10 Min's apart. Greg called into work thinking we were going to be going to the hospital soon. At NOON i called the nurse and they told me to come to the hospital to get checked and see if they would admit me. We got to the hospital about 1:30 and after checking me out, waiting, lots of irregular, painful, contractions, and lots of walking, at 3 they decided to admit me. I was admitted, took a bath (which i HIGHLY recommend when your in labor!!!!) and waited....and waited, at 6:30pm, and 7cm I convinced my Dr that an epidural would be a good idea BEFORE she broke my water. This whole time they kept turning me to my right side, left side, back over and over. At 9 pm 6 nurses arrived in my room and were literally flipping me from one side to the other and then to my back and then on my knees and elbows, to my sides and my back and then one of them got a call from the room they were assigned to and informed them that they were just going to have to wait because she was in the middle of an emergency!! next thing we know my Dr is in the room telling us that they baby's heart rate has dropped and i have stopped dialating and they were going to have to do an emergency C-section (thank goodness they were letting Greg go with me)!! So they prepped Greg and I for surgery, Greg and his dad gave me a blessing and right after they were done, the heart rate went up and i started dialating again! They decided to wait it out for a bit to see if it would stick, so they didn't have to do a surgery they didn't have to. at around 10:20ish i started pushing and at 10:33 Gary was born. They didn't have to do any surgery and I only had to push for 14 Min's. It was the scariest thing Greg and I have ever gone through! I am so thankful for the power of the priesthood! How blessed our family is to have worthy men that can preform such an amazing thing! It was a real faith building experience for both of us. We are so grateful for such an amazing blessing!

Allergy Frusterations!!

When Isaac started eating baby food we discovered (and by we i mean my dear mother) that Isaac was allergic to apples and oranges. His Dr. said something to do with the acidity of them upset his stomach, as it wasn't a serious allergy, he just thew up whatever he ate if it had apple or orange anything in it. Which meant i couldn't by juice if it had any kind of apple juice in it, which meant it was Welches 100% Grape juice for our family because it's the only juice that doesn't sweeten there juice with apple juice, because, by the way, just because the bottle says 100% juice....doesn't mean it's 100% of that kind of juice! anyways...Good news is he can now handle the apple juice, orange were still working on slowly but surely but apple is good to go! Yesterday we went swimming over at Grama Buchanan's so i put water babies on him to prevent the sun burn because he has his fathers coloring, white! By the time we get home last nite his chest and cheeks are all rashed and hive like! YAY!!! New allergy! Isaac is allergic to Water babies sunscreen!! It seems like every time i turn around he has a new allergy! Any suggestions when it comes to sunscreen for kiddos that isn't water babies?

July 4th Traditions

We went to the Tacoma Rainiers game last night. We go every year. They have a July 4th celebration game on July 3rd that we have turned into our family tradition. It's a lot of fun and it helps us get in that patriotic mood for the 4th of July. Isaac loved the game even though it kept him up WAY past his bedtime (which he never handles well at all). He loved the fireworks even though they were loud. And he loved the food that everyone kept feeding him. We went with greg's family. His sister Christie, her husband Ben and their 2 girls, Makayla (Who turned 4 yesterday, she was excited to go to a baseball game on her birthday) and Lilly (Who just turned 2, 3 weeks ago). His mom and dad also came with us! We had a blast!! We did loose the game 5-3 but it was fun anyways! I put some pics up to check out!
