What I Like

I had a very enlightening conversation with someone yesterday that has had me thinking all day of what I love about my life right now.

First would have to be this guy right Here! None of what I have right now would be possible with out this wonderful man of mine. He is a "work hard, play hard" kinna guy. Everything he does is for his family. Sometimes I'm not sure why he does what he does, but there is a method to his madness. He loves me for who I am and has no desire to change it (that I know of). He is an amazing Father and would do anything for his kids. I love that going to work is important to him but he would rather be at home with his kids. He is great at finding fun, inexpensive family outings that the boys always love! He finds the best in every situation and tries to help me see the good in, what seems to me, a frustrating situation. He is supportive and cares about the happiness of those he loves.

This Guy cracks me up! He is such a clown and loves any kind of attention. He is so sweet and one of the joys of my life. His brother is one of the sweetest kids you will ever meet. He loves to make people happy and loves learning. I love that I can leave them with someone they've never met before and I get nothing but good news. They are, for the most part, very well behaved and as long as you have the patience to try and understand them they will give you all the love in the world. They love to love and be loved, like most people. It is one of my favorite qualities of both of them. I love the running hugs accompanied by the excited "MOMMY!!! You're Here!!!" When ever I pick them up from somewhere. And I know it's not because they weren't having fun, it's because they are genuinely excited to see me. (I know this because they do the same to their Daddy when he gets home)

We have also been into reading a lot lately. Isaac has reached a point where he can take a book he's heard a thousand times and pick it up and read it back to you. It's really fun to lay on our bed, while Gary is taking a nap, and have him read to me. they both love to be read to and Greg is really good about laying on the floor, or siting in the chair and reading with them. They both love learning and are total sponges. They have also gotten to a point where they love to play together. They will go to their room and play together pretty well. We have the occasional screaming out burst because Isaac pushed Gary or took a toy away from him, and every now and then Isaac will come out rubbing his head because Gary pushed him. They are loving being brothers. At times we have a full on wrestle going on. It's fun to watch them rough house and be boys.
I am LOVING Building our own home! at the risk of sounding ubber cheesy, it has been an amazing growing experience! It has really taught me that I can do anything I put my mind to. I have poured our foundation using the huge boom truck, Drilled holes in cement, I have cut wood like nobody's business, Laid piping, I've cut through nails with a saw (yes on purpose), moved a wall and Raised walls. I've installed windows and put siding on. Greg and I have had so much fun going out to the property, OUR property and building OUR house! It has been stressful, emotional, fun, boring, and dirty! We've worked in below freezing temperatures, pouring rain and sunshine! We've learned how to fix mistakes and be OK with ourselves for making mistakes (Which is a huge one for me that I am still working on). I love the fact that when it's done we will be living in a house that WE built. Our sweat, tears and sometimes blood have gone into this house. We will know the ins and outs because we are the ones that put them there! We will know how to fix stuff that goes wrong (even though nothing will) because we know how it's put together.

One other thing I'm getting excited for is Baseball. We are huge baseball fans in this house. We love to go to games and we love to watch the games. I love the season, weather and energy that goes with baseball! When you think of baseball what do you think of?! I think of sunshine, grass, warm, cheering, hot dogs with ketchup, mustard, relish and onions (YUM), Soda, Garlic Fries, The Crack when the bat comes in contact with that fast ball that then goes flying into center field for the Home run that wins the game! Ahhhhhh! Without fail, I always loose my voice at baseball games. I have yet to go to a game where my voice comes home with me. Baseball is a sport I didn't really care about till I got married. I learned about it because Greg was so into and I fell in love with it. I LOVE Going to games and I love that Greg always takes me to at least 2 every year. 1 Rainer Game and 1 Mariner Game. We are really looking forward to this season because the Mariners seem to have a really great team. Greg keeps telling me about all the trades they've made and how on paper they have an awesome team. I look forward to it no matter who's playing! Baseball is great and I love it.

Some other random things I'm into at the moment:
Music - Modest Mouse, Cake, The strokes, White Stripes, The Beatles, They Might Be Giants, The Kooks...All the music I was into in High School I have rediscovered and been listening to a lot. Really into Johnny Cash too. . .Hmm.
Games - Card Games, Made up games, computer Games. I love that our computer has a million bajillion games that we can play. I've loved finding educational games that I can play with Isaac.
Sleep - The past couple days I have been blessed with the privilege of sleeping in past 8! I KNOW!!! Gasp!! I've been napping when I can, which is a big deal because I do not like naps! They make me feel all weird and my sense of time is all messed up and I'm usually in a worse mood when I get up.
Family - Not only my hubby and kids but my parents and siblings. I've been into making all relationships better.

All in all, I love life. I love it when the sun shines! Unfortunately the sun controls my mood. If it shines it's a good day! I love it when my kids give me hugs just because they can. I love it when my husband comes home and just wants to hang out with his family. I love it when my sister calls just to see how my day is going. I love it when she calls to listen to my bad day because she's having one too. I love it when my brother calls for advice. I love it when my mom calls because she hasn't talked to me in 3 whole days! I love that my dad leaves random cute notes on my facebook wall.

So to all of you who just came to know me in the winter, which is when I'm usually UV Deprived and depressed. I really do Love life! and I do try to be happy, it's just hard without my Sun!
